I believe I can fly!

I’m working through my bucket list, and I’m about to click off another item.  For my birthday (which is in 8 days), I am participating in an indoor skydiving adventure!  I’m stoked!!!  I can’t wait to see what it feels like to be flying–and one of the best parts is that my daughter, Audrey, is doing it with me.  Her birthday is in July as well — so we’ll celebrate our birthdays together by flying (sort of, at least).

One of my friends asked me, “aren’t you scared?”  Okay, I’m a little scared, but not enough not to do it.  In my teenage years, I let myself miss out on some adventures because I wouldn’t even try anything if I didn’t think I’d be good at it.  I let my fear of failure keep me from having fun on many occasions.  I’m glad I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older, that failure (or just not being great at something) is not a reason not to do it.  Sometimes, the fun is in the trying — and even in the failing.

So, what are you thinking you’d like to do, but you’re a little afraid you’ll fail?  Embrace the failure — embrace the fun — embrace your dreams!!
